Storyline

There’s a veritable road-rash of racing games available on Android these days, from super-slick, full 3D experiences, engineered as expertly as any over-honed hypercar, to comedic cartoon car chasers, engineered as expertly as the average Austin Allegro. But whilst the now 700,000 app-strong Google Play offers a world of super-charged choice for digital drivers of all levels of Vin Dieselness, the latest iteration of EA’s Need for Speed is set to motor straight to the head of the pack.

Offering an embarrassment of on-the-road riches, Most Wanted presents you with a choice of some 35 officially licensed sex-on-wheels supercars, such as the SRT Viper GTS, the Bugatti Veyron, the Porsche 911 Carrera S, etc., to unlock, modify to your piston-pumping heart’s content, and then race!

And what a race; using the game’s generous options of either touch or tilt to control your cruising, Most Wanted makes you run the racing gamut not just against your fellow petrolheads in the streets, but also to escape the authorities, as plod in his panda car does his best to bring you and your joyriding ways before the judge… hence the name.

Graphics are sumptuous, with superbly detailed streets and the flowing lines of the cars perfect in their attention to detail, from every flared wheel arch to well-defined wing, while gameplay is smoother than the aerodynamic airflow over an Aston Martin V12 Vantage (also available) and faster and more furious than even those movies and the speed-obsessed slap-head they star.
